Privacy
Petera Privacy Policy
Petera is a local-first reminder app. Petera does not require an account, does not sync reminder data to a server, and does not include advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs in the current release.
Policy details
- Effective date: 10 May 2026
- App: Petera
- Privacy contact: support@petera.app
Data stored on your device
Petera stores app data locally on your device, including:
- reminders you create
- reminder scheduling state
- local notification scheduling metadata
- app settings such as language, theme, quiet hours, preferred days, History, and Insights settings
- optional local History entries
- optional local Insights activity
- a bounded local diagnostic event log used for troubleshooting
This data is used to provide Petera's reminder, notification, History, Insights, data export/import, and troubleshooting features.
Data sent to the developer
Petera does not automatically send reminder data, usage data, analytics, crash reports, or diagnostics to the developer.
User-initiated export, import, and sharing
Petera lets you manually export your local reminder data to a local JSON file. Anyone with access to that exported file may be able to read its contents.
Petera also lets you manually import a Petera export file. Import replaces local reminders and saved data settings on the device. History and Insights data are cleared during import because they are not included in the export file.
Petera can generate a diagnostic report when you open the support flow. The diagnostic report may include reminder identifiers, scheduled notification metadata, app settings, scheduler diagnostics, and recent structured app events. Reminder names are excluded unless you choose to include them. Diagnostic reports are saved or shared only when you choose to do so.
If you share an export file or diagnostic report using another app or service, that app or service handles the shared file under its own privacy practices.
Notifications
Petera uses local notifications to surface reminders on your device. Notification permission is controlled by your operating system. On Android, Petera may ask for alarms and reminders access so scheduled local reminders can be delivered reliably.
Data retention and deletion
Reminder data remains on your device until you edit or delete it, import a replacement data file, clear app data, or uninstall Petera.
History and Insights data are retained locally for up to 30 days in the current release. You can clear local History and Insights data from Settings.
Because Petera does not automatically collect or store your data on developer servers in the current release, the developer does not hold a copy of your local app data to delete.
Children
Petera is not directed to children.
Changes
This policy may be updated when Petera's features or data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when the published policy changes.
